Lamp Light in the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar

Like something from a Disney movie, wandering through the colourful passageways of Khan el-Khalili bazaar in Cairo, Egypt is an experience unlike any other - and not to mention, a photographers dream.
The market was constantly bustling; it was actually so busy, that I had to combine almost 10 different exposures to create this image - because I couldn’t get a single shot with no people in it!
I chose to capture this frame in particular because I felt that the combination of trinkets and curiosities on the market stalls, vibrant lanterns and colourful textiles, and old stone walkways encapsulated the true character and feel of the place. All of that combined with the right angle and natural framing of the archways helped me to capture the Khan el-Khalili bazaar in an image that I feel is a true representation of the place. It wasn’t the only image that I shot by any means, but it is definitely a favourite.
